Summary
As the latest Dragon training begins, Viggo and his people arrive on Berk to help hunt for the nest. Their delayed arrival was because of a storm and so they stayed to help with the training. Viggo is a little surprised to find a teenager smaller than the others with others in training. One who would disappear right after training and only appear for dinner.
Then the boy started doing significantly better than the others. Trying to follow him ended up with Viggo losing him more than once. Then the boy would suddenly be gone and no one seemed to know where. Then whispers about missing supplies. It wasn't much it was happening regularly. At first, it was just food, fish and bread, but then tools, herbs and bandages, blankets, and clothes. The other Vikings paid no attention, but Viggo recognized someone was preparing to runaway. He had a feeling he knew who.

Viggo Grimborn thought he had it all figured out. Kidnap the son of his old rival, use him as leverage, and finally make Stoick the Vast pay for what happened years ago. Simple. Clean. Strategic.

Summary
For the last two years, a figure on the back of dragons had been a thorn in Viggo's side. It was always the same dragon and the same rider, but no matter what, they couldn't catch the man who was costing them so many shipments of goods and supplies. Anytime the Hunters were in the perceived territory with dragons they were raided by more than just one. More than once while the dragons worked on releasing their kin, the rider would jump onto one of the ships. They were a small little thing, and a few times, they had gotten their hands on him. Only to have the Rider's dragon attack and get his Rider out of the sticky situation. The only information they had on the Rider was that he was a 'he', he had auburn hair and pale. Nothing else. Not even his damn name and it irritated the hell out of Viggo.
Then as quickly as he'd come, the Rider was gone. No raids, no sight of him in months. Until the Nightfury was seen carrying what appeared to be a bleeding body. Viggo gave the order to bring them down alive. Only to find a badly injured teenager who had a new amputation and an exhausted dragon.

Summary
The Gods unsatisfied with how things ended for Toothless and Hiccup decide to send them back with all of their memories. Hiccup who'd become jaded from the loss of his best friend, doesn't know what to make of being returned to the past. He does know that he won't make the same mistakes from before. Can someone get through to the jaded Hiccup as he hides on an island far from other humans? Hiccup and Toothless wake up the day after he cut Toothless free of the bola that injured Toothless's tail.
They runaway from Berk and set up Dragon's Edge as a Dragon Sanctuary. With his memories of the past he is able to better prepare for the fight against the Red Death and rescue dragons. Little does he know that he's drawn the attention of someone from his past earlier.

Summary
A few months have passed since the battle of the Southern Isles. Viggo and Hiccup have returned to their respective islands sending letters and messages with the occasional visit. In that time, Hiccup has finished his preparations for winter including helping injured dragons who arrive on his island. However, things change when several injured dragons start appearing on his island. His interest in the Nest is forcefully pulled forward. He has to make plans to protect dragons of all kinds.
Viggo wasn't certain of what happened when the letters suddenly stopped coming a month after leaving the Southern Isles for the last visit og the season. He'd sent a message to the island two days ago and nothing was returned to the pole. There were no explosions. Nothing to suggest that the younger was even alive. The Hunter was beginning to worry. Especially, when the hunter ships that were near the area hadn't seen any hint of the Ghost or his dragon. Viggo goes out to find out what happened.
