On one hand, if he told her that he wasn't drunk at all and hadn't even left HQ yesterday, she would ask questions and poke holes in his, even for his own tastes, strange behaviour.
On the other hand, if he told her he had been out and drunk she would get mad at him for not inviting her, and then, because you simply cannot lie to Semiu, even angrier for withholding the truth.

However tragic this world is, at least in most cases we can find closure, and move on. We can start new lives, go down a new path. Hinawa had been there, he had been faced headlong with spontaneous human combustion, and it had sent him down a whole new path, entirely different than the one he had started. Hinawa normally wasn’t one to blame things on the nameless face of fate, but this was one thing that seemed to warrant it. It was because as far as Hinawa could see, Shinra had never had that opportunity. He’s been stuck with his demons, hovering just out of sight for his entire life. And it wasn’t until just a few weeks ago, that he had felt comfortable sharing that burden with anyone.
How do I even begin to comfort him without pushing him farther away?
OR
Hinawa can’t sleep, he had planned on getting some work done while the others slept. That’s not going to happen.
