Summary
When Loid adopted Anya and they became the Forgers, he made sure that the families with the surnames Williams, Levski, Klein, and Roche that were most likely to adopt were either no longer in Berlint or at least lived in or worked on the other side of the city. For the ones that were too close for his liking, he made sure to keep Anya away from any neighborhoods or establishments that would increase the chance of a run-in. In a city of almost 1.3 million people, there was a very small chance that the Forgers would run into any of them by happenstance. It was such a small chance that Loid had discounted the possibility after doing the math.
Perhaps that chance hadn’t been small enough.

Summary
The road to recovery is a long and rocky one.
Bodies can be healed, but coming to terms with a world which has irrevocably shifted is far more difficult.
As foreign as having some semblance of normality after the previous year is, Minako was grateful for the second chance she got at life. She just had to find her footing in this world with one less hour, one less part of her soul.
As for Shinji, he found it a lot easier to find his footing when he was being hounded to go to physical therapy by Minako.

I’ve never seen eyes that color. He forgets the guy's name. Uh, Akira? Nope. That’s my name. Gorp Akira. Wait no. Gork Akechi. No, Goron. Oh god. Goro. Goro Aketchup. NO. Oh my god. Goro Akechi. There it is.
He forgets his own name. Fuck.
