“Shit,” Varric swears.
Hawke can’t believe it. And yet, it somehow makes perfect sense that the Arishok is squatting in a cave on the coast. How much weirder and more complicated can her life possibly get?
“Well. Guess the Qunari didn’t take him with them after all,” Hawke murmurs quietly. The Arishok doesn’t look up, he simply strides to the ocean where it beats against the rocky shore.
Varric shakes his head and creeps carefully up beside her. As they watch in silence, the Arishok pauses just above the waves. Then, almost in slow motion, the man drops his hands to his pants and begins to tug them downward.
“Avert your virgin eyes, Hawke.” Varric’s voice is thick with laughter, but Hawke refuses to look away from the firm, muscled backside being revealed in all its glory.
“You’re watching.”
“Author’s curiosity,” Varric explains smoothly. “Gotta have all the details when I write your biography.”

It is.
It is, but he had to ask, and that should’ve been reason enough to keep away from them. But, Angel didn’t tell him that, wouldn’t tell him that.
The space they force between themself and him is meaningless. It’s safe through cloth. They could be standing shoulder-to-shoulder, and Aki would be perfectly fine. This is just more selfishness, them trying to assuage their guilt.Bookmarked by Emere

“You’re thinking too loudly,” Angel says. “You always do that.”
Aki frowns.
“I think too loudly?” he replies, a scoff at the back of his throat. Angel nods.
“Yes. You think and think and think but you never say anything. What’s the point?”
Aki looks away from Angel and back out at the plummeting rain, shrugging his shoulders.
“You’re not exactly the most talkative either,” he grumbles, folding his arms to stifle a shiver as the wind whips harshly around the shelter. Angel blinks.
“Yes, but I’m not thinking.”

It begins innocently, as these things often do. It ends as hellishly as Angel feared it might, Aki poised above him, heart ready and willing in his hands.
