He couldn't get far enough back to read the rest of it, but blurry text continued in an arc in both directions.
Tam was striding up to him, eyes intent on the words. Smile spreading across his face, Tam said, "Soulmark." Brushing some of the dirt off Rand's chest, his smile fell, then his face paled.
"What? What's the matter?"
"Let's go back to the house so you can take a look at this yourself."

Min sat down cross-legged next to Rand's head and started slowly running her fingers through his hair.Bit by bit, his muscles relaxed. Eyes half closed, he could have fallen asleep like that easily, but he was enjoying the feel of Min's fingers on his scalp too much. It was about the only part of him that didn't hurt, and for a time, that was the only thing he was aware of. He hoped she would never stop. It would be nice if she laid down next to him - no. He pointedly didn't look at Min - she might see the longing in his eyes.
Her fingers continued down to the tops of his shoulders, and he tensed. It wasn't that he didn't want her hands on him - anywhere, really - but his battered flesh was tender. She must have noticed, since she stopped abruptly and pulled his collar aside. He tried to turn his head to block her view, but she must have seen enough.
"Rand, how much pain are you in?" For a moment, especially when she said his name, he could have sworn that tone in her voice--no. Min didn't think of him that way. She was a friend and she cared about him. That was all.

Mierin concentrated her infinitely wide weave into a single infinitely sharp point, and...there. She was boring through something. She drew more, pushed more at her drill, until the sweetness of the Power burned in her. Beidomon was saying something, perhaps shouting. She only held on, pressing as hard as she could, as sharp as she could, until something pressed back.
Her weave splintered and she lost control of the circle. She had made a hole, a bore, and for an instant, she glimpsed something vast and unknowable beyond. Then something streamed out, a power that was not saidar or saidin, shimmering darkly in some unwoven pure form. It streamed everywhere at once, into everything around her. And into Mierin herself.
Ecstasy flooded through her such as she'd never imagined, searing her, making her feel as if she would explode every moment. This was it. This was it. The power that she'd sought, that she had bored toward. The One Power was no longer the one, and insignificant now. This was the true power.

On my first read through, I imagined scenes I expected would come. I kept expecting Rand to find out Elayne was pregnant, but when they were both going to be at the Field of Merrilor, he just had to. I was a little disappointed his actually learning of her pregnancy happened off screen. Consider this one of those nearby alternate universes, not so unlikely, not that different.
