“A woman?” Hope sprang in his chest. “What woman?”
“We are still trying to find out. She won’t tell us anything, even her name. Her fingerprints seem to match a woman who is currently incarcerated in Seoul for some petty crimes, but since that woman is confirmed to be in the Seoul woman’s prison, we don’t know who this woman could be.”
Gon closed his eyes in relief. So she was alive. “Her name is Jeong Tae-eul.”
“You know her?” Yeong asked in surprise.
Gon nodded. “Where is she now?”
“In the dungeon, awaiting punishment for treason.”

Summary
Sun Jae sighs dreamily and draws her up to a sitting position with him. He pushes a strand of her hair behind her ear. “No,” he admits. “No, I’m keeping you.”
I’m keeping you. As if Sol hasn’t been the one desperately clinging to Sun Jae, hopelessly trying to keep him alive in any lifetime, even if it weren’t one that she could spend by his side. I’m keeping you. As if it weren’t a miracle that they’re both here, together, in one piece. Whole, at last. As if it were up to either of them.
(Or: An extra scene set in episode 16 - Sun Jae is on cloud 9, but Im Sol is still worried about his well-being--as usual.)

“Jung Tae-eul.” Her name rolled off his tongue like a plea, the words hidden behind it clear as day. “ Let’s put this behind us. Let’s pretend that it didn’t happen”
She didn’t answer, didn’t flinch. She lay still as a statue, her back facing his side of the bed.
He hesitated again before crawling into bed. The bed shifted with his weight as he settled under the covers before his long arms wrapped around her waist, his face pressed against her back.
“I love you. That hasn’t changed. It won’t ever change.” He said against her back. She knew he meant it, she really did, but right now it did little to soothe her wounds. Neither of them slept well that night, but his arms remained around her waist and after a long time the two of them finally fell asleep.
