Summary
Godalming University was established by the Lord and Lady Godalming, Arthur Holmwood and Lucy Westenra, as a place for all Blooded to learn to use their abilities and cope with their Dreams of Yharnam. Built upon the grounds that once held Jack Seward's mental asylum and the infamous house of Carfax, the university has proud history of turning those of the Blood into formidable Hunters, protecting people from the monsters that lurk in the night. Harrison Porter, descendant of Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray, attends his first year at Godalming University. There he meets friends and rivals, and becomes embroiled in a plot that threatens all of the Blood.

Upon escaping Dracula's castle, Jonathan flees not to the care of kindly nuns in Budapest, but to Yharnam.
This fic has a somewhat convoluted origin. Big fan of Miracle of Sound, and listening to Gav's songs brought "Paleblood Moon" and "A Thousand Eyes" to my attention, which made me curious about Bloodborne. VaatiVidya's YouTube videos about the game were so interesting, and looked so cool, I was convinced I had to try it, even though I generally hate hard games, and I have been enjoying it quite a lot despite, even a bit because of, the difficulty. I see the appeal of the "Soulslike" games now. I also had the opportunity, not that long ago, to spend a lot of time listening to audiobooks, so took another run at Dracula, which I'd tried reading a few times but never made it all the way through. I found it such a good novel I listened to it twice back to back, then subscribed to Dracula Daily to read it again and participate in all the "My Good Friend Jonathan" memes (where the title of this story gets its inspiration). So, with Dracula Daily being at a fever pitch in September, and getting into Bloodborne, this idea popped into my head. Then wouldn't leave until I started writing it down.
