Summary
Gravely injured in battle, Jiyan is forced into his smaller dragon form to conserve his spiritual energy. He crash lands on Mount Firmament and is saved by a cultivator who infuriatingly believes him to be an overgrown lizard.
“You’re pretty big for a lizard,” Geshu Lin had commented when the dragon woke. The little thing had gotten so offended. It was hilarious.
The second time he called it ‘lizard’, the dragon had wriggled out of his arms and emphatically scratched out its name on the wooden table with its claw, ‘Jiyan’ followed by ‘dragon’, underlined twice.
“Sure, sure. You’re a dragon,” Geshu Lin says in a placating tone, feigning disbelief just to rile Jiyan more. Jiyan glares at Geshu Lin and snaps at him with his tiny teeth. The intimidation value of the gesture is approximately -100 points.
Chinese Folklore & Mythology AU with Xianxia/Cultivation Elements. Jiyan is a dragon yao who can shapeshift but primarily (normally) takes a humanoid form with dragon horns/tail. He spends about half this fic in his huggable-size dragon form for above reasons ;D
