It shouldn’t be sexy, is the thing.
It should be awkward, quiet and insecure and fumbled and too dumb, because she’s Kara fucking Danvers and she gets ice cream in her nose when she eats it too fast. Because she’s so pure she genuinely thought bangs would make her look sophisticated, because she snorts when she smiles too big and says cool to the dinosaur exhibit at the Science Center.
But it isn’t awkward. It makes Lena’s belly drop, makes her shift her hips up to meet Kara’s thrust, throw her head back, lose her breath. She feels like she's dying. It's maybe the hottest thing Lena’s ever heard, said in the hottest way Kara could possibly say it. Because she is Kara fucking Danvers and she’d be Lena’s moon and sun and every other star if she needed it, so being her daddy probably feels like a fucking walk in the park.

Summary
Kara’s not sure why people assume her other senses are heightened, but not her sense of touch. She doesn’t tend to correct them, though. She doesn’t like talking about it. It feels somehow too revealing, and unavoidably intimate, to explain the overwhelming strength of her sensory response to touch. So no, she doesn’t talk about it.
But talking isn’t the only way to communicate, and one Movie Night with Lena, her body decides to spill the secret whether she wants it to or not.

Gets better every reread. The remarkably tangible descriptions of their surroundings, the novelty of Kara’s overstimulation under touch when casual touches are usually how she express her love, the (usually forgotten because of the betrayal breakup) insecurities Lena hold over Kara’s ‘just friends’ box, the absolutely unheroic act of a hero sacrifice. This fic opens up an universe where the littlest things are worth zooming on. How else can we look at these ‘canonical’ characters’ details that got swept into their (admittedly deservedly) epic love story?
There’s so much to love here I don’t even now where to start; so please start reading ❤️

or Lena is a terrible enabler. Kara wants anything and everything Lena will give her, and underneath the weight of such gentle, earnest warmth, it keeps escaping Kara why that is dangerous.

TL;DR: Uhhh Kara realizes she has PTSD. Meanwhile Lena is the softest most gentle support, yearning carefully in the process. Angstier than ever from coffeeshib, but ofc SCorp still b fucking lmao. If u want only suave slick swooning Kara, u bout to have a bad time
I wrote a review apparently:
This is one of the absolute BEST characterizations of Kara Zor-El post-return, so logical in its tenderness. I’ve read this story no less than 15 times, and I cry everytime. Because this is what PTSD feels like, to the T. And if there’s a character/ hero to ever exist who deserves to just lie down and just break apart and have gentle hands putting her back together, it’s Kara Zor-El. And it’s been the deepest injustice that the depths and delicate intricacies of Supergirl’s endless pain and losses are not explored in any text that contains her. AND I Will die on this hill.
Lena’s pain and losses are so evident and always bursting forth. But Kara’s pain is so so difficult to write, and including shib, I can count on maybe 2 hands the number of authors who leave me entirely devastated yet so sated with the way they write Kara’s PTSD.
I can only imagine how emotionally draining this work must be to write. But I have to say, this is coffeeshib’s best work (I’m biased but oh well). Don’t get me wrong, I’m well and fully fed by any of her work. The longing. The yearning. The Lena of it all. But her Kara voice is something truly special here. It’s so so rough and awkward and achy, the signature tenderness playfulness suaveness all for Kara-with-Lena and yet. Everything still flows so smoothly and if you randomly pick a paragraph to read, you know it’s shib’s voice.
I love the fwb Kara, but the growth is quite wondrous. The fwb Kara is barely different from Lena, characterizations notwithstanding. This Kara is deliciously full throttle in the way she split her own chest open with her own jagged edges. Lena plays Kara’s usual role in her Lena-centric work, but centred, devoted, stable Lena is still never without her signature tenderness and longing in her words and actions, especially in the latest chapter.
(Also, dammit, that double-orgasm dry grinding scene just hits different, but so so right.)
