Ruby the beetle is on vacation in Soleanna. It's beautiful here, if not far from home, but she's finding peace in the hot coffee and the sweet desserts.
While sitting on the patio of a cafe, a man comes across her -- a rugged raccoon who'd like to sit at her table.
They get to talking, swapping stories of lives, friends, kids, guilts. And by the end, Ruby realizes she can help this man.All over just a cup or two of coffee.

“My knight,” she calls him, and something in his chest tenses, and something in his posture relaxes. “I need you to do something.” She takes a hand and combs it through his hair, around his ear, and down to his neck.
Where his hearts are.
His breath catches, and her eyes sharpen. “Calm your heart,” she tells him. “I haven’t even told you what I need from you yet.” She grins easily.
He can’t bring himself to smile back. -
