Summary
CONTEXT: Before the Octo Expansion was released, Nintendo had concept art of a clone of DJ Octavio! He was named Itawasa and was premised to be a sushi maker! We believe he was supposed to be the main villain of the expansion. After learning this, members of a Cuttletavio groupchat on twitter and myself helped create the character Surume, which is supposed to be the clone of Craig Cuttlefish! (If you want to know more, I highly recommend going on Twitter and learning more there!)
This fic is supposed to be MY OWN interpretation of how the clones were created and how they turned out to be. Other artists’ rendition of the characters may not be the same. MAYBE SIMILAR, but not the same unless stated otherwise.
