Summary
The Past is the Past. No matter how much you learn about it, no matter how much you turn the events over in your mind, nothing can be changed. All one can do is assert that life goes on, and keep moving forward.
This is the truth that a Certain Emil Sinclair found, the philosophy that kept him sane amidst the choking smoke, and the constant whispers of a beautiful voice that beckoned him to madness. He resolved to follow his Sign and seek the future, in the resolute hope that one day this hell would end.
When, shortly after being called to the past to face the Nursefather of the Ring, he finds himself promptly dropped into his childhood home nearly a decade before the Second Smoke War, Sinclair slowly comes to realize that his philosophy may need some revisions.
(OR: I got summoned to the past by my younger self, but when he didn't need me anymore, he sent me even further back in time!?)

Summary
Y'know, there are a LOT of ways a day can go.
you could go shopping, have a walk, play some video games.
I wouldn't put getting dragged into one of the most dystopian settings in fiction among those.
Or...
Local PM fan realizes that 'the plot' is just a fancy word, chaos ensues .
