“No, I’m going to see my mom for a bit, that’s all.”
It was a bold-faced dirty lie that Meredith wished she didn’t have to tell but she did because who would understand? Certainly not Alex, and she didn’t want to be made the laughing stock of the intern locker room, so she pursed her lips and blew out a thin line of smoke, lied through her teeth and pretended that she wasn’t pulling up to a strip club and using her sick mother as an excuse.
