    I’ve been here a long time. I’ve seen a lot of people die. It’s been hammered into my head to never get attached to abnormalities. I don’t want to be eaten by fairies or turned into a slime or hugged to death or anything else. None of them can be trusted. I know that.

    Especially not this one. Catalyst, an aberration of an Abno called Big and Will Be Bad Wolf. I’d heard horror stories about that one, and this one was still a WAW who I’d heard had escaped at some points. They said Catalyst destroyed everything in sight, mauled anyone who got close. He didn’t eat them like the other one, he just completely destroyed them and left them as piles of mangled meat. No one was sure what was the real difference between the two. They were both absolutely horrible. It’s just that Catalyst looks terrifying from the start, and the Big Bad Wolf tricks you into thinking it’s harmless.

    I knew all that. But...
