Feyd turns his head to spit a globule of bloody saliva to the side, in a mockery of the Fremen gesture of respect. “You should know, your Majesty, I will not bend to your whims so easily. I won’t back down without a fight.”
To his unease, Atreides’s grin only widens. “Oh cousin,” he laughs, “that’s what I’m counting on.”
OR: Rather than killing Feyd-Rautha during their duel, Paul spares his life and gives him exactly what he needs: a reason to fight.
