Summary
Taking things slow with Vi was something Caitlyn was deeply regretting. It had been her idea after all and Vi was always so willing to go along with what she wanted, never wanting to overstep. Caitlyn had secretly hoped that Vi would just give in to instincts and mate her every time she presented her neck. Vi would bite her everywhere else except where she wanted it most.
The longer Caitlyn waited for Vi to show up the more it felt like her emotions would boil over.
But that was when she smelled it. Something so distinctly Vi that there was no question about who had just entered the building. It was a pungent woodsy, citrusy smell that made her start to salivate. Caitlyn almost forgot why she was annoyed with Vi in the first place until she smelled something else. Something that didn’t belong. Something that wanted to take what was hers.

Vi’s rut begins unexpectedly while she’s on patrol. It’s trigger: an omega in heat. What will happen when Vi returns to Caitlyn smelling like another omega? Sure hope nothing spicy happens (it does).

The woman from the club—the one she’s fantasized about for over a month—stands before Caitlyn, panting and bent over, clutching to her side in obvious agony. Sweat beads at her temple and drips down her angular cheek, where strands of pink stick to her skin. It’s chilly outside, and yet she’s feverish, more than likely from the stab wound and other knicks she might have obtained from the battle laid waste behind them.
They’re silent, staring at each other, as Caitlyn watches. Can’t find it within her to speak, even if the pressure against her throat is quite tight. She just stares, feeling something ache within her at the visceral mistrust and anger that dances within those steel depths.
“Small world,” She hears the woman say. Her voice is raspy, deep despite her smaller height, and there’s a challenge within them, like she thinks Caitlyn is going to try and fight her, “Seeing you here, cupcake.”

Summary
When she’d tilted her head for Vi to follow her, to leave the cell she’d spent months in alone, Vi hadn’t known what to do. So, she’d taken one step at a time until she was down the hall and in the elevator. Had stood with the woman and the burly guard who’d walloped her good so many times over the years.
When she’d been given new clothes to wear, been given her release forms, all Vi could do was stare at the woman. Stare at her long and hard, unable to comprehend why she had actually gone and gotten her out.
She never got her answer—not verbally, but Vi knew.
Knew that Caitlyn Kiramman had, inadvertently, saved her life.

Caitlyn doesn’t like it when Violet lumps her into her visceral opinions of ‘topsiders’. She doesn’t like it that Violet seems to see her so negatively, even after what they’ve been through. It hurts her, it makes her a little upset, but most of all it makes Caitlyn wish to clarify herself and try to distance herself from Violet’s disdain.
But, she’s right, isn’t she?
Caitlyn isn’t just a topsider within Piltover. She’s one of the eight main households that rule the entire city. Her family alone has enough wealth to pull Zaun out of the gutter and give them the aid that they need without fearing for their own. It’s a tangible possibility, and yet they both know it will never happen.
