Summary
At the creaking of the rooftop door, the early morning sun rose above the buildings, shining and reflecting off of the windowed skyscrapers in what resembled the night sky. The horizon-line was littered with tops of buildings, ad-boards, and just the slightest haze of fog hanging over the city.
Beneath them, the slow, sluggish morning carried on. Cars honked, the busy streets of Seoul bustled, as it seemed they always did. Everyone down there had a place to be. Gi-hun knew he had a place to be, too, yet now, it was right where he’d found himself— atop the roof.
The cool scent of the air filled his nose, a light breeze just barely biting through his scrubs, sending goosebumps down his arms towards the back of his neck. Spring-time was on the cusp of ringing true, you could smell it. That was Sang-woo’s favorite season.
Sang-woo. There Sang-woo stood. Stepped over the railing, stood on the edge of the building.

Summary
Sangwoo managed to survive the last game and escape. Like a zombie risen from the grave, the presumed dead Sangwoo used stealth and skill to escape the hellhole he supposedly died in.
His first mission was to reunite with Seong Gihun, and tell him all of the things he never did when they played the games together, or even before then. When they meet, Gihun is both immensely shocked by Sangwoo's presence, and also furious that Sangwoo had never talked to him sooner about what he had to say. But when they make up with the most passionate night of lovemaking, so romantic and driven with fire that it makes the kiss at the ending of The Princess Bride look like a best friend hug, they devise a plan to go back to the island together...and end this hell once and for all.
But as the plan progresses, tensions rise, as not everything goes how they hoped it would. What will the king of hearts and the ace of spades do with a full house against the king of diamonds?
