December has come and Lena, with an infant son of nine months, is worried her wife will miss his first Christmas.
Why?
Because her wife's tour in Iraq was just extended until the new year.
Kara, on the other hand, is working with Alex to set up a surprise for her wife and son, who she has not seen in eight months.
Will Kara make it in time for her child's first Christmas?

Summary
“Who?” Buck asks, turning to look over in the same direction as Hen lets out a low whistle.
Behind them in the locker room separated by the glass walls of the firehouse stands quite possibly one of the most beautiful women Hen has ever seen—second to her wife, of course. She has thick, dark hair tied up in a loose ponytail, brown doe eyes that complimented her slightly bronze skin, and a jawline that honest to god looked like it could kill.
She also happens to have a silver band on her left hand.
Buck and Chim, however, seemed much too caught up in her general aura to be looking at her hands. Not that Hen can really blame them.
“New recruit, Eddie Diaz,” Bobby’s voice rings out proudly as he walks over to where Buck and Chimney are still unabashedly staring. “She’s a military war vet—girl’s got a silver star.”
or, the lesbian buddie fic no one asked for.

Summary
"We're not supposed to be able to do that."
"What?"
"Use each other's wands so well... Didn't Ollivander tell you something along those lines when you bought your wand? How many others did you have to try before you found the one that worked right for you?"
"Quite a few. He said that 'the wand chooses the wizard.'"
"Or witch. But exactly, Harry. So why is it that our wands don't distinguish between the two of us?"

Summary
“What have we got Cap?” Hen asked, as they piled into the truck the alarm blaring behind them.
“Two teenagers caught in a building collapse.” Bobby recited dutifully into the mics as the truck trundled out of the bay, it’s own lights and sirens starting up as they took off towards the scene “Apparently they were on the roof of that condemned apartment building on Emmitt Junction and it gave out on them. One has a possible rib fracture, and the other has no injuries, both are awake and alert.”
“Do these two teenagers have names?”
“Buck and Eddie.”
“What kind of a name is Buck?” Chimney asked, nose wrinkled.
“What kind of a name is Chimney?” Hen shot back, turning to look at Bobby “what were they even doing on the roof of that building? it’s been red tagged for years after a fire took it out.”
Bobby made a face, like he wasn’t sure if he could really believe the words out of his mouth as he said, “According to dispatch, homework.”

Summary
Bit by bit, Buck stopped.
It began with the little things. First, he stopped checking his phone when he woke up. He used to do it everyday. He’d check for notifications on Chimney’s instagram, or maybe a new message from the 118 group chat. It wasn’t that anyone other than him texted at one in the morning, but sometimes he’d sleep past one of Cap’s old-timey GIFs or whatever.
Sometimes, Athena would text and greet him good morning. And a few weeks into knowing him, Chris would send a morning message begging for help, normally because Eddie was trying to make pancakes again.
So, with everything going on, Buck always made it a point that the moment his eyes opened, he would check his phone.
Until the first week after the lawsuit, and for the seventh day in a row, there wasn’t anything there except a pitfall in Buck’s stomach.
Nothing.
Never.
Not even a quick ‘hello’.
So, Buck ceased checking his phone. After all, why did he even need to?
