In which Elsie just wants to take a family picture.
"Hello, darlings!" she cries, waving the camera and coming down the hill. "If we could get a quick family picture —"
"We aren't a family!" Newt says indignantly, glaring at Sophia.
"You could've fooled me," Tina remarks dryly, then puts her wand away and concedes, "Fine."
"A photograph?" Theseus says keenly, as though he's never heard of such a thing.
"Quick, everyone look good," Sophia instructs, and strikes a commanding pose, the intimidating effect of which is diminished significantly seeing as she's a solid foot shorter than everyone else.

“Doin’ what?” Kate shouted over the howl of the wind whipping her hair in her face.
Tyler sighed and adjusted one white-knuckled hand on the steering wheel while the other gripped the loose passenger harness strap. “You know exactly what you’re doin’.”
“There’s only two of us in this truck, and you’re driving,” she pointed out sensibly, her voice almost lost in the wind as the top half of her body hung out the passenger side window. “What would you have me do?”

"It doesn’t hit her immediately, not like she always thought it would… When she thought about things like that. The first wave of nausea doesn’t send her into a panic, not the aversion to her coffee either. The sting of Tyler’s fingers on her breast makes her flinch but she doesn’t pause, doesn’t question it, and even if the calendar on her phone says that she’s late, she doesn’t see it. It isn’t avoidance or denial, it’s just obliviousness. And Kate Carter is rarely oblivious."
Or, Kate and Tyler's future takes an unexpected turn... Though, maybe not all that unexpected.
