Mira's brows twitch.
"I… I know now isn't the time, but I'm realizing that actually I haven't seen you get sick. Like, ever. Is that—"
"A demon thing?" Rumi whispers. "Probably. Celine always said I had a strong immune system."
Mira makes a face. One that Rumi would've struggled to decipher even if her vision wasn't so blurry.
"Celine… knows?"~
In the immediate aftermath of Namsan tower, Rumi wakes up the following morning sick as a dog. Zoey and Mira help her through it, while also confronting their emotions and assumptions about the events of the last 24 hours.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”

Summary
The battle is over. Gwi-Ma is gone. The world is safe.
But Rumi is shattered.
Jinu, the demon who had helped her realise that she was more than a weapon or a mistake, had sacrificed himself in the most selfless way possible. He had saved their world and no one would ever believe her, probably.
Rumi isn't sure how she is supposed to cope with that.
But then her girls mark their presence: Mira, with her gentle steadiness and Zoey, who never stops showing up, even when Rumi refuses to open the door.
In the wreckage of what she had lost, something new begins to take shape: fragile, unspoken, and real.
Grief doesn't disappear, but neither does the love that remains.
