"That night, Chan stares at his purple-tinted ceiling and tries to imagine calling Felix something other than his name. Not baby. Everyone calls him baby. Babe? Too close. Honey? Honey-Felix, his golden hair, his silky skin, his sweet smile. It fits. Darling? It reminds him of Peter Pan, and Felix could have wings and live in the stars. Sweetheart? A candy-coated name, like he could roll it around his mouth and swallow and maybe it would make Felix laugh.
Okay, his sleep-deprived brain allows. Maybe it would make him laugh, but all of those are objectively worse than 'baby'. Those are a little much. A guy’s got to draw the line somewhere.
But why draw the line here? He turns over and thinks of Felix’s face. Thinks of saying, Hey, sweetheart. How Felix’s eyes would crinkle up. His smile would show his cute, sharp little canines. Why shouldn’t he, really? Felix would get it. He always gets Chan. He’d understand that it’s a fun little thing between the two of them. Why shouldn’t they have fun little things, just he two of them?"

He gestures at the painting. "This is the first thing I've painted in a long time that looks the way I wanted it to look. That actually captures what I was trying to capture." His hand drops. His voice goes softer. "Thank you, hyung."
For their eighth anniversary, Chan sets out to give each of his members a gift that, in his opinion, best encapsulates the words "I love you." The only problem? He’s physically incapable of keeping a secret, and the universe, plus his seven nosy, well-meaning members, keeps foiling his plans in increasingly ridiculous ways.
Or, alternatively, seven times Chan tries to surprise his members with the perfect gift and gets caught in the act, plus the one time they surprise him back.

There’s a soft whistle from a few desks away, and Suo can feel the heat on the back of his neck grow hotter. “Wow,” it’s Kiryu, the word coming out almost like a sigh, and Suo can imagine him leaning forward on his desk, chin propped atop his hands. “I didn’t think he had it in him.”

Can only think of that fact—that humans are undeniably warm—in the face of a hand tilting his chin, staring into eyes as deep as soil even as his ears burn, his mouth twisting to spit out a stuttered mess of syllables. “I’m fine, ain’t gonna leave nothin’ but a few bruises.”
Nirei snorts even as Sakura can feel his hand shake. Hisses at the press of antiseptic against his cheek, grousing as Nirei barrels on, focused in a way so few things outside of his book are given. “Doesn’t mean you should slack on tending to yourself. If you won’t look after yourself, it just means somebody’ll have to make you Sakura-san.” His grin is a slight thing, crooked and sincere in a way that makes Sakura want to make a noise like an overheated teakettle. “This is the least I can do…at least for now.”
Sakura huffs, gaze slanting if only to avoid looking at the earnestness for too long and it makes him go blind. “Yeah, yeah, get on with it. It’s not like I’m fightin’ you off.”
