The two teens looked at each other, the connection they shared allowing them to talk through thoughts. The Sage had showed them another way.

Summary
A younger Naruto gets contact with Kurama, the Kyuubi, after a traumatic experience in Konoha. In an effort to save themselves they run away and find shelter with the most unlikeliest of people, the Akatsuki.
Meanwhile in Konoha, people need to live with the concequences of losing the heir to the Uzumaki clan and the way most shinobi deal with it (not all that well).

Naruto groaned as he opened his eyes, but closed them just as quickly. This couldn’t be, he couldn’t possibly be where he thought he was. An ending in one place, was the beginning in the next.
Opening his eyes again, at 9 years old, after knowing he died at 17, Naruto descided for himself to make sure he could keep all his precious people close and to spare them of the grief of losing their own precious people.
