He sent them messages over the forums, he was supportive, he praised them occasionally—especially after a job, and especially if they did it fast and didn't leave any marks.
Those words of encouragement ignited something in them, seeing something like that from such a remarkable figure, someone so important that he shouldn't even know them at all—and yet he did, and they worked for him, and he was impressed by them, pleased, even—it struck them right in the heart, Taph tripped over themself to earn that attention again. And so they got faster—and so Doombringer told them "good job" a little more often—and Taph suddenly had something more to think about than just drifting through work every day.

Doombringer has recruited Taph to work for him as a demolitionist, but he pushes it further than it should go when he begins to involve them in moderation work. Summary
Everything he'd done in the last year, was for Taph, to prove that this was where they belonged, here, with him, where they were safe. Sometimes he felt like he was the only one who could do it, no one else would treat them well—and he was terrified to leave Taph with anyone who'd hurt them again, like Doombringer had, like all of Robloxia had wanted to do.
They just needed someplace calm to feel like themself again. Builderman swore he could be that place this time.

Summary
Taph didn't often feel like they'd deserve it, anyway, lots of people get that feeling naturally, and they never did, surely it was a sign that it was never meant for someone like them. Intimacy was strange, it couldn't follow rules, and Taph couldn't keep up with understanding things like that. Maybe it was true then, they were just completely undesirable, that was fine.
