Whatever it was, he had found that he had grown incredibly comfortable having someone like Azul around… despite the odds, despite what his brain kept telling him. Summary
Jamil had always found Azul's attention annoying, but after the winter break overblot the merman became downright insufferable.
That's when Professor Crewel gives them a group assignment. How much can change in two weeks? A lot, apparently, and what was supposed to be a simple alchemy project turns into something more complicated, involving a heist, personal drama, good food and surprising revelations, not necessarily in that order.

Floyd’s pouting face did little to assuage his anger as he swam around in rapid circles, tail whipping through the water with a force that reflected how utterly furious he was. Ordinarily, he might have beheaded someone by now. He might have yelled and stomped his feet until his face turned red, tyranny be damned. But in his current state, even that simple form of catharsis was lost to him.
After all, goldfish didn’t exactly have feet.
