Summary
She just sinks into it, these lilting sounds of another time she’ll never forget, not once, not ever. One voice cheerful, water-bright, the other crinkled at the edges with citrus and snark, and something in the back of her drowsy head starts turning over. She flashes through the rabbit weeks before, where she’d been startled to see they were approaching the day again; everyone had been startled. You don’t save the world a dozen times over and then some without losing track at least once. Like rowboats, all of them, kicking out in the dawn light toward tomorrow, casting against the tide.
(Souls in the sea can come up to visit, a day out of every year. The Warrior of Light makes the most of it, and remembers how to relax a little, just this once.)
