Summary
I saw a post talking about being the one patient of Hannibal Lecter's who somehow wasn't turned into a killer and thought that would 100% be Buck.
More 9-1-1 focused than Hannibal but I tagged it as a crossover just in case.
This is what came of it. I hope you enjoy!Chapter 2 is Hannibal's POV of his worst failure.

Summary
“Buck.”
There’s a pause, and then the sound of a breathless, ragged sob. Not the kind Buck lets out when he’s trying to play it off, not the kind he hides behind a laugh. No, this is raw, wet and broken and small.
“Can you pick me up?”
Bobby’s chest cracks open.
Buck’s voice is hoarse, like he’s been crying for hours –or screaming into a pillow. It’s frayed at the edges, worn down to the nerve. And it’s not just sadness Bobby hears in it– it’s fear and terror.
“I want to go home,” Buck whispers next, and it shatters something deep in Bobby’s gut.or: The 118 teaches Buck that family isn't about owing someone your organs, but about who brings you pie when you've given too much of yourself away.

Summary
An alternate look at Buck, Bothered, & Bewildered, where instead of acting out in jealousy, Buck tries his best to manage his feelings, maintain his relationship with Eddie, and even foster a new friendship with Tommy. It doesn't go great.

Summary
Later—after he has drifted in and out of consciousness over and over, like rising out of a churning sea, first to the park ranger, who cannot stop crying, then in the back of the ambulance, and finally at the hospital, where the nurses speak to him in gentle voices that make him want to rip his own hair out at the roots and he finally stays awake, the pain too intense to allow him to drift back to the bottom of that warm dark water—Buck’s first clear thought will be, But it was all going so well.
***
Buck is attacked on his day off. In the aftermath of everything that's happened - from Maddie's leaving to Eddie's breakdown - he decides the best way to deal with it is to hide it.
It goes about as well as one would expect.

Summary
“Memory loss?” Evan frowns, because he wishes he had memory loss. He remembers pretty much everything about the last three hellish months of his life. At least, what he was awake for. “Like, amnesia?”
“Exactly like amnesia. You seem to be missing a few years of your memory. You believe you are twenty-one years old, correct?”
“Y-yeah.” Evan nods, mind racing, searching for the memories the doctor is telling him he’s lost.
“You are currently twenty-seven years old.” The doctor says. “You’ve been living in Los Angeles for a while now, according to your boss. You met him earlier, although I’m not sure how much you remember.”
“The guy with the rosary?” Evan’s voice catches. He remembers the stranger vaguely. He remembers being scared.
__
Or: Buck is injured during a call and wakes up as Evan. Evan's last memory is being held captive by a cult leader who kidnapped him while he was living in Peru.

Summary
Robert Nash was a worrier by nature. He worried for himself, he worried for his friends in AA, he worried for his team, he worried for that Sergeant Grant who always seemed to turn up at the right time. It came with the job description, he was responsible for a group of adrenaline-junkies willing to throw themselves into danger to save another life.
He worried. A lot.
With Buck? It was different, it extended further than his ability to perform his role or the connections he made in his life, he worried for the kid generally all of the time.
Or:
Bobby doesn't understand why he cares so much for Buck and why it feels so different but so familiar, he begins to understand when he realises how few people Buck has looking out for him, how small his support system is. Especially when he finds out through unfortunate circumstances that he's Buck's emergency contact.Bookmarked by FluffySarcasm
