It’s just another way in which their attraction is a complete mystery to him—Kaoru’s emotions always leak out of her and onto everything else, while he can’t really tell you what he feels beyond love, hate, sadness, happiness, and anger. Oh, and apathy. He has a very limited emotional range, compared to Kaoru."
