Summary
Years ago a ship crash landed on Erid containing valuable cargo that the Eridians discovered were alien 'eggs'- incubation containers that contained embryos. The crew did not survive the crash and neither did the clutch of eggs except for one. Now the last of his species, Ryland Grace was raised on Erid in a special biodome meant just for him and his adoptive sires to live in. The problem? Ryland Grace believes that he is not the last of his kind. When he is denied permission to start a mission to explore the galaxy to find others of his kind a submarine made of thick iron crashes onto Erid. In the submarine is a tree containing something Grace never expected: another of his species named Simon. The only problem is Simon cannot remember anything other than his name, that he has mutations, and that he was in the submarine on a strange mission. Now Grace must help Simon not only regain his memory but to build a ship to get home. But Grace must also make a difficult choice: will he join Simon on a journey to finally be among his kind or will he stay on Erid where he was born?
