Once again, Diluc is forced to watch as someone he loves dies in his arms. But this time, he wasn't left alone in the wake of it all.
Apparently even death can't keep them apart. Now it's just a matter of learning how to live when your childhood crush is inhabiting your body as a ghost. And hopefully, learning how to bring him back to life in the process.

Aramori nodded, hugging its own fruit close to its tiny body. “Nara Kaeya is very smart! Sweet fruits taste sweetest off of the branch! Bad fruits on ground are no good…” They said, and Kaeya couldn’t help but think that if they had a nose, they’d be wrinkling it. He chuckled at its cute expression. In a strange way, it reminded him of Diluc, though many things did nowadays.
Kaeya finished his fruit, tossing the core aside at the base of the tree and brushing himself off as he stood up. “I have to go return to my duties, but it was nice to meet you Aramori. Enjoy your fruit, don’t eat it too fast or you’ll get a stomachache, okay?”
Aramori nodded. “Aramori will heed your words, kind nara. Aramori will tell the other Aranara that nara Kaeya is a good nara! Aranara will protect nara Kaeya!”
Kaeya couldn’t help but wonder if this was going to turn out to be more trouble than it was worth in the long run.

“I must be going insane…” He muttered, rubbing at his eyes.
“Perhaps.” The other version of him replied bluntly. “You yourself are aware of the effects the delusion can have, hallucinations aren’t exactly uncommon. But with your natural power and the power of the delusion combined, is it so hard to believe you could create something like this?”
The delusion smiled at him, a trace darker than what felt natural to see on Diluc’s own face. It sent a shiver down his spine.

In the aftermath of his father's death, Diluc leaves mondstadt with nothing but his delusion and vows vengeance on the fatui. He discovers that he has the ability to use his delusion to create a magical construct taking the form of a second version of himself to fight by his side, and ends up seeking out comfort from it in his loneliness.
Perhaps he's losing his mind. He's not sure if he cares anymore.

“Thank you…” Kaeya said softly, barely above a whisper.
Diluc blinked at him. “...Thank you?” He prompted.
“For inviting me inside. For not chasing me away.” Kaeya explained. “You would have had every right. What kind of weirdo lurks around someone’s estate in the middle of the night?” He said with a chuckle.
“You looked sad.” Diluc blurted out, and Kaeya blinked in surprise.
“...Maybe a little.” He admitted, a bittersweet smile on his face.
They danced in silence a little longer, until…
“I missed you.” They both said in unison.

Kaeya takes to wandering the grounds of the winery at night to in order to ease his own nerves. Diluc invites him inside, and Kaeya helps him practice dancing.

Summary
While Kaeya had miraculously maintained a human form despite the curse on his homeland, his body still had remnants of more monstrous features. In the end, such a thing was inescapable, having been born into a land of sinners. The most prominent examples of this were his right eye, which was catlike and glowed a menacing red, and, unfortunately, his genitalia, which was dark in color and appeared more akin to a tentacle than any sort of human appendage.
He knew he had to tell Diluc eventually if they ever intended to take their relationship any farther, but he wasn’t sure he’d ever be prepared for Diluc’s reaction. Of course, it’s not like this was the first time he had to come clean to his sworn brother about something about himself, but confessing his secrets never seemed to get easier no matter how many times it had to be done. He didn’t think he could handle the possibility of being rejected due to his body, not after everything they’d been through after all this time. How could he possibly risk losing everything over something like this?
Which is why it caught him so off guard when Diluc finally asked the question.
“...Why haven’t we had sex yet?”

Kaeya glanced up at him, running his fingers through Childe’s hair as he continued to suck him off. “Hm?”
“And,” Diluc continued, “You two chose to have sex out on the couch when there’s a perfectly good bedroom right here, and left the front door unlocked. So this was intentional, then?” He said, gesturing towards the pair.

“I’m certainly not trying to suggest that consent isn’t important, it’s extremely important! I’m just saying that it’s not necessary for me. I would accept anything anyone tried to do to me, regardless of consent. I’d welcome it, even.” Kaeya had said.
Diluc grimaced. “Don’t just go saying things like that… what if someone actually tried something?” After all, there was no way Kaeya meant that for real, right? He couldn’t possibly mean it as more than a passing fantasy.
In response to this, Kaeya had simply smirked at him and said nothing
