Even if there were no physical figments around to remind him, the news would announce a change in the Figment Laws, a segment on proper care, people discussing charities, donations, foster and halfway homes.
Chris couldn't escape.

Summary
Neil goes into Witsec at 18. It gets into Berkeley at 19, which is easier when you have a new identity and background. He is looking at a Ph.D. in mathematics. He is twenty-seven years old. His best friend Aaron Minyard is in his final semester of med school before going into internship.
Neil Josten is twenty-seven when his new identity is released, and a bounty is put on him. He has to travel cross country to meet his FBI handler, but he doesn't go alone. Aaron Minyard's mysterious twin arrives and offers to take Neil wherever he needs to go. Andrew Minyard is a dangerous ex-Navy SEAL, and Neil doesn't trust him.

“Quiet!” the King shouts. He regrets the decision to hear everyone’s opinions every meeting. It always ends like this. They’ve all been arguing for hours. The King doesn’t have patience for this. Everyone becomes silent at his command. He rolls his eyes. Unbefitting of a king, but whatever. He couldn’t care less about his image in front of these people.
Years ago, the King ordered that every major profession chose a representative. One person to speak for everyone with that job in the entire kingdom. All the representatives, along with the king himself, his general, his head assistant, the high priestess/advisor, and head guard would form a council. They meet every month or so and every time, it ends in chaos.

Abram has recently fled to Palmetto, the capital city of the vast country of Foxcourt after the loss of his mother in Troy. Earning himself the title Library Thief and a wanted poster with his name on it in his first few days, Abram survives by pickpocketing and hiding, skills he's gotten good at on the run.
