Summary
Nathaniel's coming back to The Empire after nine years. Nine years since his mother was "assassinated" and he was cast off to Germany. Nine years alone with his father's men. Nine years and the Raven War ended somewhere in between.
A lot has changed in nine years: The Moriyama Empire is at peace with the Foxhole Republic, Ichirou is the Crowned Prince, and Kevin has a bodyguard who won't leave him alone.
Nathaniel has never asked for much but he certainly has never asked to help expose The Empire's ghastly secrets. Didn't ask for this psychotic midget to protect him. Didn't ask to have anything to do with former enemies. Didn't ask to find someone who understood his pain. In fact, all Nathaniel has ever asked for is to stay alive and it seems he can't even have that.
i.e. a royalty au and Andrew wears a cravat.

After the death of his mother, opportunity arose, and despite years of teaching telling him to not take it, he does, and with that coursing back through his veins, he isn't sure how to ever leave the stage. If he stays, he won't survive for long. But if he leaves, will he ever truly be able to live?

From this proximity, Steve can smell his cologne and lingering car oil. He can feel his brain cells dying every second he inhales the intoxicating aroma. Steve breathes shallowly, too aware of the growing blush on his cheeks, and says, “S-sure. I’d like that.”
Eddie smirks and has the audacity to wink before going to each of his kids, ruffling their hair, and kissing them goodbye with a big wet smack on their cheeks. He passes by Steve again and murmurs, “I won’t say goodbye to you like that. Not yet, at least. Good luck with my little gremlins” before walking out the door.
