Summary
After being pulled form his plane while doing a test flight hal jordan, meet a dying alien named abin sur, was chosen by a space ring to become a green lantern, learned what a green lantern was, meet a pink hippo man named kilowog who's now training him, got to explore space and learn about alien worlds, got a cool worm pet, came back to earth, legally came back to life after being pronounced dead, started protecting earth, learned while he was gone something called a justice league formed, was both attacked by and joined the justice league all while leaning more about his willpower.
Or someone who has a love for sci-fi add a bunch of it's nonsense to green lantern. I also wanted to have green lantern just sorta come to earth and handle alien stuff out of no where. Read tags. -

Wally felt nothing right now that's not a normal or a good statement, starting down the basement stairs thru his non blackened eye, at his dad who layed at the bottom of the stairs in a position that no living human can or should be in, wally felt himself coming back to himself more, the parts of him that cared where back. Oh, his dad is dead at the bottom ofnthe stairs and wally pushed him, shit.

Or someone who's never written on this site writes for the first time and uses a 3rd person format to have wally in a moment of stress and danger accidentally kills his father and cleans up.
