Summary
He was dying and no hero was going to save him.
Something about that thought changed a fundamental belief in his almost 7 year old mind. It was a reversal of everything he’d absorbed so far, that heroes saved people with a smile, that heroes were cool. He didn’t blame his father. No, his father was doing the right thing, teaching Izuku control. He was stricter than most traditional families, but then again what did he know? Maybe this was how all families were. No that wasn’t the realization that shook him. It was that he was dying. And he wasn’t the kind of person that heroes saved. He didn’t deserve to be saved, so he had to save himself.TLDR: Midoriya Izuku has a blood quirk and an abusive father. He never meets All Might, but he never needed him anyway. He has Kacchan. But as he starts spending the occasional night on the streets when his father is particularly angry, he starts noticing things he never would have noticed. In downtown Shiozaki, under the broken streetlights, he realizes that heroes aren’t always what they seem like on TV. And that the line between vigilante and villain is more complicated than it seems.
He still makes it into UA, but he doesn’t feel like he belongs there- Language:
