She staggered inside, blinking through the haze as the shimmering blue particles in the air started to fade. The explosion had torn the apartment to pieces. The doors had all been blown open, leaving jagged openings in their place. Metal support beams twisted their way out of the crumbled walls like claws. The wall that separated the main room from the lab had collapsed and underneath it…
A horrible scream tore its way out of Powder’s throat and Mylo and Claggor were at her side in an instant. Vi was just barely visible beneath the rubble–a shock of pink hair, an outstretched arm.
“No!” Powder shrieked, scrambling over to her. “No, no, no, please! Vi!”

Caitlyn's hand wrapped around the knight's neck, her grip tightening as the knight continued to stay silent. She could feel every distinct pulse and beat of her heart in her chest and temple. The princess couldn't see anything as images flashed and flitted across her mind– those slimy hands tracing the same ropes of muscle and ink on Violet's body which she explored. The images cleared as the knight held the hand that subconsciously tightened around her own neck. Her touch was so gentle despite the pain Caitlyn was inflicting on her.

“Does the lady know Miss Kiramman?” Mrs. Reynolds' voice sounds so pleasantly surprised at the notion. Vi hums, her eyes never leaving the sculpture. She can imagine her now, her sharp cheekbones, full lips and the bluest eyes Vi had ever seen. In the privacy of her own mind, Vi wishes she could see her again. To apologize.
Looking at the statue now, Vi feels like she’s both gazing upon a stranger and a long lost friend. Someone she has admittedly found herself missing and thinking about constantly, wondering what her life would look like if she had answered differently all those months ago. The statue, while beautiful, doesn’t do Caitlyn justice. It doesn’t show the little furrow in her brow when she’s focused, the small, hard fought crinkles in her eyes when Vi had finally managed to get a laugh. It doesn’t show the lines of her face that scream nothing short of crestfallen heartbreak at Vi’s own hand.
“Only a little,” Vi finally replies.
“Do you not think she’s beautiful?” Mrs Reynolds asks.
Vi doesn’t look away from the statue. “She’s stunning.”

“Piltover?” Vi asks, looking back at Ekko who just shrugs. She takes a step closer to Caitlyn, invading her space. “Let me ask you something– Caitlyn–was it?” Her voice is so close to her face. “You got a last name?” Caitlyn feels her stomach drop at the question.
“Well, actually…this might sound mad–” Caitlyn starts. She turns away from Vi, in need of some reprieve. She rubs her brow with the tips of her fingers, as if she could conjure up a better answer. “I don’t know my last name. I was found wandering around when I was about nine years old,” Caitlyn says sheepishly.
Vi nods, as if she understood. “And, uh, before that– before you were nine?” She brings her finger to her chin.
“Look, I know I must sound ridiculous, but I genuinely don’t remember. I have– very few memories of my past.” Caitlyn looks down at her hands clasped in front of her now. Her thumbs rub together.
Vi looks back at Ekko again, huffing a small laugh.
“Well I do have one clue, I suppose. And that is Piltover."
