Phantom was fading. Lace knew that.
She knew that every time she snuck away to the Exhaust Organ, it might be the last time she saw her sister. She knew that every time she went, there was a chance she would find nothing but a mask and longpin, collecting dust amid the smog and fumes.“Would you compose with me?”
Lace hesitated, her older sister’s request echoing in her ears.
“I’m not much of a composer, Phantom,” Lace replied. “That was always your thing.”
“I’d like you to try,” Phantom said, pushing up her mask. “Or are you afraid your music will never be as good as mine?”
“Ha aha ha ha!” Lace giggled. “Is that a challenge, dear sister?”
