Summary
Steve blinks awake slowly, eyes bleary against the weak rays of a sun not fully set filtering through the room.
The hours before are hazy, so he focuses on what he can feel in the moment, the feeling of soft sheets, pillows like clouds under his head, a familiar weight on top of him, warm and grounding.
Arms gathering him close, - safe, protected, loved - small puffs of air near his ear where his love has buried his nose into the crook of his neck. Whispers of kisses against his skin where lips brush lightly as his chest rises and falls.
He doesn’t have to reach far to plant a kiss into unruly, curly hair, brushing the tips of horns and pointed ears peaking out through his love’s mane.

Summary
When the dust finally clears - he’s sore, bleeding, feels like he needs to black out and hibernate till he’s 80- but it’s over, and he has a tired, overly affectionate Eddie plastered across his back.
Steve’s settled between his legs, Eddie’s arms around his waist, hands rubbing soft circles over his belly, wings curved protectively around them. His nose is pressed firmly into the curve of his neck, breathing him in, heartbeat slow.

The crowd roars, and Steve hears a couple of their Chicago friends near the stage boo in jest. Eddie narrows his eyes at them and laughs.
Steve looks around at this bar that their family has shared so many memories in - he tries and fails to not let his heart overflow at the sight of so many people coming to see Eddie play in the same bar that housed empty gigs not that long ago.
He wills himself not to cry.

Summary
When Eddie’s bassist breaks his wrist right before Corroded Coffin’s first big tour he’s forced to turn to desperate measures.
