He’s going into heat. He’s going into heat, and Wade’s not here. The one time they separate for any significant length of time, and he has to fucking go into heat. More than anything, he’s angry at himself for not catching it sooner. It’s usually pretty easy to figure out when it’s coming on- but he’s blindsided, and that just pisses him off. He lets out a low growl of frustration, raking a hand through his hair, and makes his way to the living room, slumping on the couch.
“God fucking dammit.” No one is there to hear him but the dog, but saying it out loud still satisfies him a little. He groans.
Wade is going to be gone for seven days. And that’s if the job goes well and he doesn’t run into any problems that would delay him. By the time he gets home, Logan is going to be in the thick of it.Wade leaves for a few days on a job, and Logan's heat sneaks up on him at a bad time. What's a lonely Wolverine to do?

The first thing Wade realises when he wakes up is that it’s 3am. The little numbers on his alarm clock blink back at him mockingly. It’s weird, he never wakes up this early, not without a nightmare anyway.
The second thing he notices is how hot he is. The heat is suffocating him, making his lungs burn whenever he takes a breath. He can’t sweat but he feels how hot and clamy his skin is with the humidity under the duvet.
