It was extremely rare to see Sesshoumaru caught off guard. His usually composed, stoic façade cracked; his widened, faintly alarmed eyes betrayed unmistakable astonishment.
“How did you get away from them?” he asked, seemingly torn between exasperation and admiration at her antics.
After all, escaping the tight ring of protection her father had placed around her was no small feat. Those bodyguards had literally one job: to surround her and monitor her every move, every second of the day. But when Rin was determined to get something, she could be exceptionally resourceful.
