It’s been there since Shinji first met Aizen at the academy, a prickling sense like you get when someone is watching you. Aizen is always watching. The warmth of his voice never reaches his eyes. His offers to help Shinji train always carry an undercurrent of greed. His gaze lingers a little too long, his expressions a little too practiced. It sticks like burrs under Shinji’s skin, leaving him on edge.
