Alex was the most powerful and terror inducing villain to ever walk this world. (And they once were the greatest Hero, but they didn’t particularly like talking about that phase…) They had many enemies and countless Heroes that tried time and time again to defeat them. And they all failed.
The point was: They could and would obliterate anyone who would dare even begin to think that they were weak for Morgan. They weren’t. They didn’t do weak. Didn’t even know the meaning of the word! Well, no. That was wrong. They fought plenty of Heroes, who were pathetically weak.
But Alex wasn’t. Never. Not even for Mor- Oh fuck, they were smiling. In an instant, Alex lost all threads to their inner monologue.

All Sam wants to do is get his master's degree. He moved back in with Bobby and Ellen, his former foster parents, to attend the University not too far away and to be closer to his brother. Then on his first day of classes, a crying toddler crashes into his legs, begging him to save her father who has collapsed next door.
Falling in love hadn't orginally been part of the plan.
