Leo believed that asking someone the question, “Where are you from?” was inherently unfair, because whereas some people could simply answer “Quebec” or even “Canada”, he always felt the need to clarify that he was Corsican and spoke primarily Corsican, but he was from France, and lived in Quebec. In his mind, the true meaning of “Where are you from?” roughly translated into “Which place-name do you identify with and how can I factor it into my perception of you?”.

Summary
Kwak Jiseok had bonded with his Kthepa almost five years ago now. Until then, his life had been fairly normal.
Jiseok was someone who lived through fact. He didn’t believe in the impossible. Never had and never would.
But then, as he stared at that little creature, as he watched it peer out from its hiding spot, he felt something in his chest burst. It was comfortable, like a tightness he hadn’t known existed had suddenly let go. Like taking a breath of air after living his whole life in a vacuum.
That one interaction changed Jiseok’s entire life.
The years that followed left Jiseok dunked head first into the world of the Kthepis. He learnt that, now that he was bonded, it was his and Jiduck’s duty to maintain the balance between Earth’s nature and the magic interwoven through the fabric of reality.

Or, after his family move to Seoul, Jiseok attends a new school. He has to balance his bond with Jiduck and the expectations that came along with it with his school work and the newfound crushes on five of his classmates.
Throughout it all, something evil is brewing. Something that's going to take everything to defeat...

“Your halo is getting brighter,” Tyonen observes.
Jiduck squeezes his eyes shut in embarrassment. His halo can give away his emotions sometimes. Incorporeal and intangible, it sits some inches above the crown of his head, a bright circle that a hand could pass right through. The light it emits can flicker and wane when he’s tired or upset, and in return it can also glow brighter when he’s happy, excited, flustered. He didn’t even think about his halo giving away his feelings, and he’s really wishing he just waited until Fox.de was available to groom his wings.
Tyonen has some fun with Jiduck's wings, then with his halo.
