    Even back before he knew Tom and Maddie, he would peek out of his caves to watch the jagged flashes. Before Tails and Knuckles, he had always looked out the window when lightning storms came rolling by. Nowadays, he stayed hunkered down in a blanket fort with Tails, away from the dazzling flashes, and that was okay. As long as Tails was making it through the storm, Sonic didn't have to watch it.
    But this time was different. He would be out during the storm. He would feel the electricity in the air.
    And he was looking to get struck.
