“You have a jacket,” someone murmured under their breath, softly enough that Shouta couldn’t tell who they were.
“Yes?” He still responded. “Like always?”

Izuku was only marginally aware of Kacchan stomping out of the classroom, having been annoyed by Kaminari hard enough to take an early “bathroom break”.
He became much more interested when Kacchan returned immediately, as if he had taken a single step out and decided to come back.
Kacchan casually strolled across the classroom, visibly trying not to get anyone’s attention. Once he had reached his seat, he sat down on it… Backwards.
“Izuku,” he whispered, folding his arms on top of the chair’s back. “Something fucking weird is happening.”

Izuku blinked slowly, staring at the random student. He had been nearby when they tripped, so of course he offered to help, but he hadn’t been expecting a conversation.
Not one about quirks, most of all.
“A what quirk now?” Is what his mouth managed to ask.

“I keep dreaming of those big… inky-black monsters,” Tenko said. “They have beaks, and I can see their brains sticking out. And the worst part is… They keep hurting you. You, Izuku, Uncle Toshi, everyone!”
From the corner of his eye, Tenko could see Aizawa’s mug pausing, before the man placed it down, turning to face Tenko, one hand reaching to pat his shoulder comfortingly.
“And I can’t stop it. In fact…” Tenko whispered, his hand coming up to cover his face, fingers outstretched. “It’s more like… I’m the one telling them to do that. And my face feels like my hand’s pressed to it, but both my hands are always free and I keep- I keep hurting you, too…”
Aizawa grabbed Tenko’s mug from the top, putting it aside along with his own, before engulfing him in the tightest hug of Tenko’s life.
