Summary
After Minato’s death, Konoha stops feeling like home to Kakashi. Far too many people who made the village feel like home, are gone now. Kakashi copes by spending as much time as he can away on ANBU missions, overworking himself, trying to distract himself from everything he has lost.
Thankfully, during one of his rare moments in Konoha, he happens to stumble across the one place that can make even the most desperate of lost souls feel at home: Ramen Ichiraku.

He's frustrated and feels like he can do more, so in secret he trains in ways his family would certainly disapprove of. One day he gets a sensei, and learns he can improve significantly faster as long as he follows his sensei's traditions. Even if he hates it.
