Summary
Midoriya Izuku has a stockpiling quirk that takes the energy from fresh corpses (lovingly referred to as 'souls') and uses them to boost his natural abilities accordingly. Others call it 'scavenging', or 'grave robbing', but Izuku just calls it recycling.
Of course, it's kind of hard to be a hero when his quirk relies on things Not Being Saved, but that's fine. He'll figure it out.
WARNING: This fic contains a lot of animal death-- death and corpses are very important to the story, and I don't really pull punches with this sort of thing, so if you've got a soft heart for fictional animals, this might not be for you.
