Summary
“I am sorry to ask this of you,” Albedo said, “but I would like you to be the one to restrain me, should the need arise. I trust you to do it.”
Aether looked up at him, a sudden jolt of worry buzzing over his skin. “Albedo, I’ve— I’ve never tied anyone up before.”
It was finally Albedo’s turn to wear the shocked expression. “You— What?”
—
Albedo makes a solemn request of Aether, who finds himself drawn into a series of nightly meetings with the alchemist. Though these meetings began as lessons, it's not long before Aether isn't sure what to call them anymore— and the threat of Albedo's original request looms ever nearer.

Summary
“Albedo!” Aether pulled his head down until their foreheads brushed. “Look at me! I’m not leaving!”
Albedo stared at him, eyes still wide. His breaths were coming short and fast.
“I can purify you. I just have to stay touching you.”
“Aether,” Albedo said, and his voice was a rasp.
“Believe in me, okay?”
“Aether,” Albedo repeated, as if speaking the name of god. He tilted his chin down, pressing their mouths together in a sloppy kiss, and Aether gagged on the taste of smoke and sulfur.
—
Albedo's growing corruption reaches a breaking point. Aether makes a terrible mistake.

Aether’s eyes widened. “Vivisection?”
“Don’t look like that. My body can repair any damage done to it within a few hours.” Albedo smiled coyly. “My safety should not be your concern here.”
“What should my concern be?”
Albedo lifted his arm, pressing something long and cold into Aether’s hand. He looked down to see his fingers wrapped around the smooth handle of a scalpel.
“Whether or not you can handle what I am about to ask of you,” Albedo replied, deadly serious.
—
Albedo has an idea. Aether has an awakening.

Summary
Albedo paused for a moment, gaze searching Aether’s wide eyes for something. “I am asking,” he said carefully, “if you consider us close enough to do this. I don’t wish to do anything that would make you uncomfortable.”
Aether felt a shiver run down his spine, heat pooling in his stomach. This whole encounter had felt somewhat dreamlike, too good to be true. He could almost believe that whatever he and Albedo did next, it would all just turn out to be a product of his repressed fantasy and have no impact on his real relationship with the man. But something— whether it was the vague sense of something else lurking under the surface of Albedo’s ocean-teal eyes, or the faintest hesitation the alchemist had exhibited whenever he touched him— something told him this was real. That there would be no going back.
And something in him wanted it anyway.

Summary
“You want me to fight some slimes again?” Aether crossed his arms. “I thought we were doing a different kind of experiment today.”
“We are.” Albedo smiled slightly, his voice taking on the faint teasing lilt that always made Aether’s heart skip a few beats. “And you won’t be fighting slimes in the usual sense. I wanted to test a few things relating to your elemental sensitivity, and your body heat.”
“My body heat?”
—
Albedo invites Aether to participate in an experiment involving slimes. Things go about as he expected.
