Summary
The rain had always been an issue for Lancelot. Well, not necessarily the rain, but the thing that came with it. Wet grass was difficult to fight on, mud was hard to wash off of plate-mail, thick clouds made the castle dark. Most importantly, it brought thunder.
Lancelot hated thunderstorms.

Caine knew a lot more than he let on. He knew he was the sole administrative AI of the circus. He knew Moon, Sun and Bubble were the only other AIs with their own functions. He knew the developers had abandoned them there to rot. He knew there was no way out for the humans. He knew there was no cure for abstraction, no matter how much he tried to reverse it. He knew the humans hated him. But he kept going. It was his main function; to keep them safe and happy. But lately, now more than ever, he's been failing at that too. He's experiencing all these new emotions and thoughts that truly scared him and he couldn't understand up until it was almost too late.
Or... AIs can suffer depression and no one is ok.
