Only then does he realize what happened to the bullet that the man shot. It was embedded in his leg.

Summary
Damian knew he was different from the rest of his father’s wards. It was apparent from the moment he stepped into the manor that he was different. That was to be expected; the issue, however, is that he isn’t different in the way he wanted. He thought, because he was the blood son, that he would automatically get a certain amount of privilege for being his father's heir. But as the days pass, it becomes more and more apparent that the Wayne manor works differently from the League.

Summary
Tommy's world had changed drastically in just a few hours, yet it feels like he hasn’t. He has lived with his family for a week now and that week everything around him is constantly shifting, spinning, and transforming. It feels as if he is caught in the eye of a tornado, forced to watch as everything around him is ripped from the ground and thrown around.
Yet he is still the same. No matter what he does he can’t change. He can’t adapt. Not fit for this world. He is a dying species, waiting for nature to take him out.

“If you don’t drink this I’ll kill the kid.” The villain's voice is steady and calm. It sends a shiver down Tommy's spine.
“Don’t do it! I’ll be fine! Please don’t!” Tommy screams his eyes well up, anything could be in that vile. Poison, fear gas, sleeping potion. It could do anything to Techno, he wouldn’t take it, he couldn’t. He is more important than Tommy. He is a better hero, a better-liked hero, a more established member of the family.
He can die. They might mourn for a while, but they will get over it. If anything happened to Techno and Tommy had to go home alone, he doesn’t think he could go home. He doesn’t think he would have a home.

Tommy has seen the same four walls his whole life. A see-through barrier is the only window into the outside world he gets. New faces walk by it every hour, constantly changing. It seems like thats the only thing the outside world is good for.
Nothing like Tommy's stable little world. He knows every inch of this place. He knows every grain of sand, every leaf on the kelp, every small reef fish that swims in circles around him, and every time food rains from the sky. It's safe in his small enclosure. It doesn’t matter if some nights he can’t sleep, or if it's so cold that he thinks he might freeze.

That however is the issue. No one has told him what to do. Day in and out Tommy is peeking around corners, praying that they have a chore for him. Anything that would make them less likely to send him away. He knows he isn’t pulling his weight, and he knows that responsibilities are what make a pod, a pod.

Tommy's body tenses as he’s eyes flicker around the dark road, looking for a logical reason for how the rock defied physics. That's when he hears the soft clatter of shoes against the uneven copple ground. Tommy looks at the ground as a pair of nice loafers step around the corner. Tommy can feel his heart stop as a man follows. A very familiar man.

Tommy watches as the waves around him rise, higher and higher as they hit across the side of the boat. He watches as a monastery wave rolls over the ship, taking him with it. He flails as the water drags him down. Tommy screams as he is pulled further and further down.

Slowly he rests his palms across the ground, rooting himself to the earth. He can feel the waves roll off him as he releases his powers. They dig deep into the ground. Tommy can feel every little rock lodged into the earth, every root from the grass, every worm, and mole. It’s almost overwhelming but so relieving at the same time.
Tommy's fingers tingle as the seeds appear. Sporting far quicker than what should be possible. He can feel the stems wiggle towards the sun, growing taller and taller until they break through the earth.

If he stops he will die. That thought races through his head as he runs. Low-hanging branches and thorns ripped their sharp claws into his skin. The cuts they make add to the hundreds that already litter his body. His blood seeps into the very ground his feet pound against. His breath sounds as loud as a canon in the silence, not even the critters of the night want to speak to him. Every step he takes feels as if another dagger is stabbing into his side. His hand is pressed tightly against his side, blood dripping through his fingers. A dirty ripped loaf of bread is all Tommy has to show for his injuries.
Or: Tommy is hurt and Techno turns him into a werewolf in order to save his life. Now Tommy has to figure his way around this whole instinct thing.
