Hermione is a university student at Oxford and one of her professors is the delightfully complicated Narcissa Black-Malfoy. This is a very slowly-paced teacher/student romance that stretches over multiple years, until Hermione isn't a student anymore. It's my most honest try at a story without dark backgrounds, trauma or abuse of any kind. Just two very human people who take a long time to find to one another. Lots of university politics and drama and familiar characters. Also, smut. But you’ll have to be patient to get there…

“It’s always push and shove with us, isn’t it?” Lily asked, seemingly transfixed by the slow and steady trickle of blood that oozed from Narcissa’s lip as she grazed her thumb around the cut. “Gryffindors and Slytherins? Mudbloods and Pure-Bloods?”
Narcissa could only shrug.
“What would happen, I wonder...” Lily continued, as if in a trance, her emerald gaze brighter, hotter, and deadlier than Fiendfyre. Narcissa felt a hand softly rest upon her waist under the water, and suddenly they were moving, swirling the water as they did so, Lily turning them gently until Narcissa was backed into the wall of the bath. “What would happen if I pushed?”

Summary
Hermione studies for a PhD in English Literature and Drama, but struggles to pay the rent on the flat she shares with her best friend Ginny. Already drowning in work for her thesis, she contemplates accepting a job at the university library. But her supervisor Andromeda Tonks suggests an alternative - that Hermione take a part-time job with her sister, who runs a 'small clothes shop' and who also happens to be designing the costumes for a new theatre production of the play Medea, which is one of Hermione's topics for her thesis.
Only Hermione didn't expect the 'small clothes shop' to be the well-known designer label The House of Black - so well-known that even she's heard of it. And she definitely didn’t expect to fall in love with the owner....
