Summary
Regulus set his cup down carefully, and its soft clink echoed in the sudden silence. Even the Slytherins at the neighboring tables froze, watching them.
"Excuse me?" Regulus's voice was cold, nothing like the soft voice of yesterday.
"You heard me." James was vaguely aware that his voice was carrying across the Great Hall, that he was making a fool of himself, but he couldn't stop. The words poured out like water from a broken dam. "What did you put in my breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?"
Now he was close enough to see the faint freckles on Regulus's nose, barely visible against his pale skin. Close enough to notice that his gray eyes weren't just gray, but had blue flecks near the pupils.
"Love potion? Amortentia? Some other damn black magic your family taught you?"
